The nominees are : 

Adam Lambert Adam Lambert is an American singer who became famous with his participation on American idol in 2009, even if only came second in the competition. Since, he has gained a worldwide popularity. He released this year his third album "The Original High" which reached number 3 at US Billboard 200 and in the top 5 in several countries in the world. "Another Lonely night" were the singles released this year. "Ghost Town" was a hit in Europe, Oceania, but less in North America. It also spent the most of weeks in our Gay Music Chart, often in the Top 5.


Christine and The Queens Christine is a French queer artist, who won several awards in France in 2015 for Best Female Artist, Best Music Video, and Best Song Writer. She released at the end of the year 2014 her first album "Chaleur humaine", which had a huge success in France and Belgium where it reached number 1. She's actually promoted her US version of her album, with TV appearances (like in the Daily Show), concerts, and collaboration with queer artist Perfume Genius for the single "Jonathan".


Conchita Wurst Conchita Wurst is one of the most famous drag queen in the world, since her victory at the Eurovision Song Contest 2014 with the mythic song "Rise Like a Phoenix". With her victory, the Austrian bearded drag queen won also a large mediatization and a strong fan base worldwide. She became an icon : even Miss Austria dressed like her in her national costume at Miss Universe 2015 ! She performed worldwide, met famous people like Ban Ki-moon to talk about LGBT rights, won three Amadeus Austrian Music Awards in her country, released her first album "Conchita" which became platinum in Austria, and released a biography... What a year ! "Heroes" is her second single taken from her first album "Conchita".


Courtney Barnett Courtney Barnett is an Australian openly lesbian singer from Melbourne. She was nominated in eight categories at the ARIA Music Awards of 2015, and won four trophies: Breakthrough Artist, Best Female Artist, Best Independent Release and Best Cover Art for her first album "Sometimes I Sit and Think, and Sometimes I Just Sit". This album reached number 4 in Australia and number 20 in the US.


Hayley Kiyoko Hayley Kiyoko is a Japanese-American actress, singer and songwriter. She released her second EP "This Side of Paradise", and promoted it with two music videos, at first "Girls Like Girls", then "Cliffs Edge", which depict lesbian love stories. Both made a huge buzz on lesbian medias worldwide, with respectively 21,3 millions and 4,6 millions views on YouTube.


Miley Cyrus
For several reasons, 2015 was the year when Miley became a LGBTQ icon. At first, she founded The Happy Hippie Foundation, a nonprofit organization strives to help homeless and LGBT youth. To promote her foundation, she made several live backyard sessions with differents artists like Ariana Grande (for "Don't Dream it's Over") or Joan Jett (for "Different" or "Androgynous") for examples. Secondly, she came out publicly as genderfluid, having said that she "[doesn't] relate to being boy or girl, and I don't have to have my partner relate to boy or girl." And finally, she made a really queer presentation of the MTV Music Awards 2015, especially with her performance of “Dooo It!” with 30 drag queens on stage !


Sam Smith
Sam Smith is a 23 years old British openly gay singer who made his coming out last year. His first album "In the Lonely Hour" is a huge success, with 8,5 millions copies sold worldwide. In 2015, he won 4 Grammy Awards, 2 Brit Awards, and in the beginning of 2016 a Golden Globe. He became since last year the LGBT artist most mediatized in gay medias worldwide. Everything he says or does (his love relationships, his opinion about LGBT rights, his pictures on Instagram, his lose of weight, his musical actuality like with his music video "Lay Me Down" about marriage equality, or his second collaboration with Disclosure with the single "Omen", or his James Bond’s song for "Spectre", a premiere for a gay artist in this franchise) is reported from Europe to Russia, from the USA to China.


Steve Grand
It took a long time to the openly gay independent artist to release his first album "All American Boy", but the mediatization was huge worldwide in gay medias, and the success important for an independent artist, with 10.000 copies sold, a 47th position in Billboard 200 albums chart, and a third position in Billboard US Independent Albums Chart.


Troye Sivan
Troye Sivan is a 20 years old famous YouTuber, actor and singer. After the success of his single "Happy Little Pill" last year, the openly gay Australian released in 2015 his first album "Blue Neighbourhood". To promote his album, he released at first the "Wild" EP, and a "Blue Neighbourhood" trilogy of music videos which tell the complicated love story of two young men who must face homophobia. "Wild" (Blue Neighbourhood Trilogy Part 1/3) shows the childhood of the two lovers, "Fools" (Blue Neighbourhood Trilogy Part 2/3) shows the breakup of the young couple because of the homophobic father of one of them, and "Talk Me Down" (Blue Neighbourhood Trilogy Part 3/3) shows their future after the death of one of the characters of the trilogy. The mediatization in gay medias of his music videos was worldwide. With no doubt, Troye Sivan is one of the new rising artist of the year.


Years & Years Years and Years is a British band composed by openly gay singer, and musicians Emre Turkmen and Michael Goldsworthy. The huge success of their single "King" (number 1 in UK and in the top 10 of several countries in the world) and their first album "Communion" (number 1 in UK and in the top 10 in several European and oceanian countries) made the lead singer a gay icon, with gay medias in the world report his private life (especially his love relationship with Clean Bandit's violinist Neil Milan Amin-Smith from October 2014 to October 2015) and his opinions (he supported the Yes side of the Irish gay marriage referendum).
